Rarely a photograph says the truth; usually it shows what the observer wants to see.
This is because I like photography.
I received my first camera in 2002, as a gift. It was a Canon EOS 3000N film-camera. I'm fond of it still now, and keep it jealously in a tray in my room. Trough this camera, I discovered photography, in color and black and white. I'm used to develop and print the second ones by myself.
However, after two years, I took photos ever more rarely. Dia were hard to show and print. Dark room work was very difficult to do, without a dedicated room.
Everything changed with digital photography. In March of 2006 I bought a used D70s Nikon camera, and I start again to take photos. By following tips and technics from the talented photographer Juza, I discovered again the lost passion. I start to post-processing images by myself, by means the use of a PC. Is there always something new to learn about digital post-processing of images. Moreover, this practice leads to goals near to what the photografer wants to obtain, artistically speaking.
All of my images are taken in RAW format. Then, I process this ones to improve several aspects related to them, in order to make them more pleasant to the observer. Usually I adjust colors, contrast, sharpness (Operations that otherwise would be processed automatically by the camera). Sometimes I crop the frames to highlight the subject, and often I do selective corrections on spot areas of the images (Obviously without falsing the nature of the subject).
I don't see nothing of bad in post-processing work, if not exaggerated. Indeed, it is an added value of every photographer of the digital age. Nowadays it is hard to obtain valid digital goals without post-processing skills. the famous photographer Ansel Adams (1902-1984), was used to develop every his click in the dark room, to create real masterpieces (it says: “You don't take a photograph, you make it.”). Nowadays we do the same things by means the post-processing software, instead that by means acids and lenses of the dark room.
I take nature photos mostly. They allow me to see beatiful and relaxing places.
